TYPOGRAPHY/FONTS
The choice of fonts is immense. To generally simplify it, fonts are broken into two main categories, “Serif” and “Sans-Serif”, meaning feet, and no feet.
Traditional fonts are generally Serif, such as Times New Roman, while modern fonts are more often Sans-Serif, such as Arial.
The typeface, or combination of typefaces used exerts a ‘feeling’ to the business card.
A graphic designer is trained to analyse the subject matter and choose a typeface to most effectively promote an appropriate feeling about the business at hand.
If you have an existing logo, the typeface would be chosen to blend in with that.
As the business owner, you may choose to override the designer’s choice and specify your choice of typeface.
